Roaring Forties, Victoria Australia.

Supplier of the car.
I was delighted that Robert Logan took over the company, he has total enthusiasm for car building and keen to have a perfect car for his customers. Obviously, the building of an electric GT40 was a completely new build with many changes to the standard build. Robert is working hard to move this project forward, despite the potential difficulties.

Auto Sports Electronics Perth Australia.

Supplier and Support of MoTeC Electronics.

Glen at Auto Sports Electronics has supported through the build and understanding my desire to give the GT40E the functionality of a modern car. Also training me to ultimately perform much of the programing of the MoTeC myself.  Never a sound of frustration with my unusual demands.

MoTeC

MoTeC. Australia through dealers.

Auto Electronics.

MoTeC supply a full suit of electronic components generally for racing cars including computerised Displays and Power Distribution Modules. I  purchased the C1212 and two PDM30 Power distribution Modules for my GT40E.

 EV Works. Perth, Landsdale. Australia.

Batteries, chargers and all things EV +

I needed a good contact and support to help me with the electronics. In addition to Tim being able to supply batteries, Charger, Tesla Logic board and 300v Airconditioning unit. Tim has proven to be excellent help with the project being patient with every hurdle.

 R K D E Designs Ltd. UK

CAN Switchboard

RKDE supply an 8 Analog / 8 Switch ECU Master CAN switchboard. Whereas ECU Masters make the electronic board only RKED supply it in a box with plug connections. I use this to limit the wiring inputs directly into the MoTeC PDM. The RKDE accepts inputs from, for example the light and wiper switches, that is then sent to the MoTeC by the CanBus, In addition to switch inputs it will accept variable voltage inputs from for example Distance sensors, via Arduino. Temperature sensors etc. I required 2 units.

 Openinvertor. Germany.

Tesla power board

As the Tesla power board has proprietary software, it is not possible to run their motor outside a Tesla car. Openinvertor produce a replicable power board, thus making it possible for the MoTeC to talk via CanBus to the Tesla.  Johannes also offers first class support, looking at the Tesla whilst it is being run in Australia

CTALS Connector-Tech. Australia.

Plugs

I went through an enormous amount of Deutsch plugs.  CTALS have a very good web site that helps you select the right plug, in addition to supplying kits. Email help and Delivery are spot on.

Cambridge Technologies. Wire

Cambridge supplies wire in multitudes of colours and gauges predominantly I used the 32 gauge, using many meters of it. I generally bought 32m batches but should have purchased at least double that for each colour. I did not but I would recomend striped in the mix to give a greater range. Delivery Lightning.

 EVTV Motor Verks.

 Quaife differentials.

As the Tesla has a standard differential, using breaks to manage slip. I needed a Limited Slip Differential. EV Motor Verks were able to help by supplying me a Quaife diff. Videos are available to instruct the change of diffs.

Stakry. USA.

Shipping from USA

If you find that you have been over quoted freight from a USA supplier. Use Stackry. You set up an account with Stackry and your supplier sends your parcel local freight to Stackry.  Stackry can then combine and repack your parcels. Their freight cost is generally way below that of your original supplier. I have used them for many years and find them well worth working with.

 HP Academy. New Zealand.

Online Training.

HP Academy run online courses on Auto Electronics, Suspension setup etc. I watched the wiring course, it was well worthwhile.

Porter Agencies. Australia, Malaga.

Nuts Bolts and Tools

Porters have supplied me with a massive range of nuts, bolts, tools, etc at prices way below the National hardware store.

The Dashboard Doctor. Melbourne Australia.

Covers dashboards with Vinyl. A great job. Although a long time but no longer than promised.

Vintage Supplies. UK.

Vintage Supplies supplied the hinges for the bonnet. Lotus.

Dynamco. Australia.

I have known Dynamco, as a very professional company who, amongst other things, supply vehicle security systems.

3D Create Co. Australia.

I have known Patrick Gleeson for many years, he has designed a number of 3D printed components for the car.

John Fowler Autosports. Australia Malaga.

I have known Dynamco, as a very professional company who, amongst other things, supply vehicle security systems.

Bolts & Nuts Australia. Australia  Bassendean .

Where Porter Agencies could not help, for example square nuts Bolts & Nuts were able to help.

 Zero EV. UK.

Drive shaft stump. For Tesla if you do not have the cups.

Motor Sport Parts. Australia.

Supplied me with a mounting bracket for the throttle sensor.

Smiths Racing Services Australia QLD.

Supplied me with the throttle sensor.

Morley Signeworks. Australia Morley.

Labels on dashboard, car wraps etc. A long-term supplier. Very Reliable.

Cete Automotive. Germany.

Exhaust Sound. Cete make a unit that creates sound to imitate an ICE in electric cars.

IOT Store. Australia, Perth.

CanBus USB analyser. I wish that I had purchased this comprehensive but not expensive unit earlier in the build.

Road Race Rally Engineering.

CanBus Board Rate convertor. As MoTeC can only manage 500 and 1000 kpbs, I required a device that will transmit data from the 250 CanBus circuit to the 500 circuit.
